Prevedel lab published a study demonstrating groundbreaking improvements in a method to measure cell-stiffness, known as Brillouin microscopy. This method  will provide a powerful tool for observing changes in cell mechanical properties, early disease diagnosis and, ultimately, it will significantly improve our understanding of mechanical forces in biology. His lab is currently developing the technique further for application in lung research.
