Ausbildung

Dr. Konstantina Kontogianni erhielt ihren Doktor in Medizin im Jahr 2000. Sie wurde 2011 Fachärztin für Atemwegsmedizin und arbeitete anschließend in Großbritannien als Fachärztin. Während ihrer Arbeit am Oxford Centre for Respiratory Medicine erhielt sie das Kompetenzzertifikat der Stufe 1 für transthorakalen Ultraschall gemäß den Anforderungen der British Thoracic Society. Zeitgleich beschäftigte sie sich aktiv mit der interventionellen Pneumologie (IP), die bald zu ihrem Hauptinteressengebiet wurde. Im Jahr 2012 erhielt sie das Long Term Fellowship der European Respiratory Society und arbeitete als Fellow für ein Jahr bei Prof. Herth in der Thoraxklinik Heidelberg. Hier wurde sie in allen Aspekten der IP ausgebildet. Von 2014 bis Juni 2019 arbeitete sie in der Thoraxklinik Heidelberg als Fachärztin für Beatmungsmedizin und ab Juli 2019 als Oberärztin in der Abteilung für interventionelle Pneumologie.

Beruflicher Werdegang & Forschung

Im Juni 2015 promovierte Konstantina Kontogianni an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Athen im Bereich Asthma. Sie war an der Planung und Durchführung von Studien, der Patientenauswahl, der Datenerhebung, der Datenanalyse und der Erstellung von Manuskripten in mehreren prospektiven, randomisierten, kontrollierten klinischen Studien beteiligt und ist derzeit leitende Prüfärztin für mehrere laufende Forschungsprojekte im Bereich interventionelle Pneumologie. Seit 2014 ist sie Mitglied des European Respiratory Society College of Experts, sowie der DGP (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Pneumologie und Beatmungsmedizin) und seit Dezember 2021 nationale Delegierte der EABIP (European Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology) für Deutschland.

Interventionelle Pneumonologie, insbesondere Lungenvolumenreduktion bei COPD-Patienten, Asthma, aber auch radiologische quantitative CT-Merkmale bei Asthma und COPD, bronchoskopische Diagnose und mögliche Behandlung von peripheren Lungenknoten.
